Where the two products differ
Donesafe (a HSI product) is enterprise-grade EHS software focused on large organisations with dedicated safety teams. The product is broad and capable, but deployments are typically consultant-led, take months, and cost five- to six-figure annual subscriptions plus implementation fees.
RAE IQ is built for SMEs. The drafting engine produces compliant safety documents in under 60 seconds with no template-building or workflow-configuration phase. Same QHSE outcomes (SWMS, audit programmes, NCR/CAPA, management review, RTW, multi-site) at a fraction of the price, with no consultant required.
Donesafe is a good fit if you have 200+ employees and a full-time safety team. For everyone else, RAE IQ delivers the same compliance evidence without the implementation tax.
Who switches from Donesafe to RAE IQ?
- ANZ mid-market businesses (10–200 employees) over-served by enterprise EHS.
- Subsidiaries of larger groups whose parent uses Donesafe but who need their own simpler tool.
- Safety managers tired of consultant-led builds for what should be a 60-second draft.
- CFOs cutting back on annual EHS spend without dropping compliance evidence quality.

Frequently asked questions
Is Donesafe better for large enterprises?
Donesafe is built for enterprise EHS and integrates broadly with industrial IoT, asset management and ERP systems on its enterprise tiers. If you have 200+ employees, multiple ERP integrations and a dedicated safety team, Donesafe is in its element. For most ANZ SMEs, the breadth and depth of Donesafe is overkill, and the implementation cost is hard to justify.
Can RAE IQ replace Donesafe in a mid-market business?
Yes for most ANZ SMEs up to ~200 employees. RAE IQ covers SWMS / Site Safety Plans, incidents, ICAM, NCR/CAPA, audit programme, management review, RTW, mental health, psychosocial register, multi-site, Officer due diligence, contractor inductions, plant, inspections, PPE, training matrix, licences and Evidence Pack. The gap with Donesafe is typically only in deep enterprise integrations.
How does pricing compare?
RAE IQ starts free (3 documents) and tops out at Business ($249 AUD/month, unlimited users on enterprise quote). Donesafe is custom-priced and typically lands in the high five to low six figures annually for a mid-market deployment, plus implementation. The order-of-magnitude difference is material for SMEs.
Can I migrate from Donesafe?
Yes. Export your Donesafe documents as PDFs / Word files and upload to RAE IQ as reference documents — the drafting engine uses them as context for new documents. Workers, licences, training and incident history can be imported via CSV on Professional and Business plans.
Does RAE IQ have enterprise SSO / SAML?
Enterprise SSO / SAML is on the roadmap (not yet delivered). RAE IQ supports email + password and is hardened for multi-tenant data isolation via Postgres RLS. For SME deployments, that's sufficient; for enterprises requiring SSO before adoption, plan accordingly.
