How does RAE IQ compare to HazardCo?
Short answer
HazardCo is a New Zealand trades-focused product with a strong subscription base for residential builders and tradies. It produces generic Task Analyses and basic safety packs. RAE IQ produces full HSWA Site Safety Plans aligned to the relevant ACOPs, plus the broader QHSE management system (ISO 45001 audits, RTW, mental health, psychosocial register, contractor inductions, multi-site) that HazardCo does not cover.
HazardCo is a New Zealand product that targets residential builders, tradies and small construction PCBUs. Its sweet spot is producing generic Task Analyses (TAs) for trades work and helping with on-site induction and incident logging via mobile.
For its target audience โ small NZ residential trades โ HazardCo is established and easy to use.
RAE IQ is a different proposition:

- ACC RTW pathway module โ week-1 employer-funded, week-2+ ACC, certificates of capacity tracking, suitable duties library.
- Multi-site / multi-workplace architecture for businesses with more than one yard or site.
- ISO 45001 + 45003 alignment including internal audit programme, NCR/CAPA, management review, WHSMS gap analysis.
- Mental health programme with EAP config, MHFA register, Critical Incident Response.
- Psychosocial register with WorkSafe NZ Mentally Healthy Work GPG (May 2024) + Te Whare Tapa Whฤ framing.
- Trans-Tasman โ same platform works for AU operations under WHS.
HazardCo is built for small residential trades. RAE IQ is built for everyone else โ and increasingly, for those small trades that have outgrown HazardCo or have head contractors demanding more than a generic TA.
